If you’re looking for a smaller yet family-friendly ski resort, Fanningberg will not disappoint.
For us, there’s no special reason needed to go skiing – we simply love skiing! And when we have a camper van, the entire experience becomes even easier and more relaxed. We choose ski destinations based on the weather, slopes, and, of course, how suitable the resort is for our family. Sometimes we sleep right in the parking lot of the ski resort, while other times we prefer a nearby campsite.
This time, we chose Fanningberg, a small yet picturesque ski resort in Austria with 35 kilometers of slopes, located at an altitude between 1,497 and 2,150 meters. It’s an ideal destination for families with younger children, like our 4-year-old son, who is enjoying his second season of conquering the snowy slopes. Fanningberg offers just the right length of slopes and perfect inclines for beginners and children.
The ski slopes are well-maintained, and the resort has a pleasant variety of terrain. The huts along the slopes always entice us to stop for a warm drink or a tasty Austrian specialty. Skiing at Fanningberg won us over with the friendliness of the staff, the peacefulness of the resort, and the breathtaking views you can enjoy from the top.
